Chia seeds are native to Mayan and Aztec cultures and is one of their main source of nutrients. Chia seeds are one of the richest foods in fatty acids and contain 0.2 g of Omega-3 and 1.2 g of Omega-6 per serving. Chia is also a good source of calcium and iron.
Soak the chia seeds in water, juice or milk to release the mucilag, a gelatinous liquid with virtually no taste. Combine with fruits or cereals or consume as a refreshing beverage.
